Just three years after that, three guys named John, Paul and George invited him to join their band. At age 17 he joined the Eddie Clayton Skiffle Band, and in 1959 hooked up with the Raving Texans, who later became Rory Storm and the Hurricanes. Starr knew from very early on he wanted to be a drummer. The former Beatle (born Richard Starkey) has kept busy during the pandemic, releasing two EPs in 2021, “Zoom In” and “Change The World,” and a third EP this month, “World Go Round.” He’s also released two books, “Ringo Rocks: 30 Years of the All Starrs 1989-2019” in 2020 and “Lifted: Fab Images and Memories in My Life with The Beatles from Across The Universe” earlier this year. 30 - with a little help from his friends, the All-Starr Band.
